The Arkansas K-12 Distance Learning Initiative is offering opportunities for credit recovery during the summer of 2008. Both asynchronous (web-based) and synchronous (compressed interactive video) methods are available.
Based on an informal distance learning needs assessment conducted by the Cooperative Education Service Distance Learning Coordinators, the following courses are being offered:
Algebra I
Algebra II
Geometry
English 9
English 10
English 11
English 12
Physical Science
US History
World History
Health
Oral Communications
Spanish I, II
Survey of Fine Arts
Civics
The summer schedule will be as follows:
Session I will be held: June 9 – July 2.
Session II will be held: July 8 – July 31.
Monday through Thursday 8:30-12:30 or 12:30-4:30
For a complete list of credit recovery summer course offerings, please visit the Arkansas Distance Learning Portal at http://ardl.k12.ar.us, select “2008-2009 Classes” in the “View DL Classes” list, then in the “Select Subject Area” menu choose the “Credit Recovery” option, and click “Go”. Each listing will provide contact information for enrollment.
Each district should provide a facilitator and computer for each student enrolled in the credit recovery course.
