School districts have received student test results for the Augmented Benchmark Examinations and the Stanford Achievement Test, 10th Edition, (SAT10) administered in April 2008. In order to compare the 2008 SAT10 results to existing norm-referenced student data from the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS), a concordance table is required. Concordance tables for each grade and each subject tested have been developed for district use. The tables are posted on the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) Web site and may be accessed at http://arkansased.org/testing/pdf/sat10-itbs_concordance_063008.pdf.
These concordance tables serve two purposes. First, the tables provide a way to compare student scores on the SAT10 and the ITBS to identify how performance changed from one year to the next. Secondly, the tables allow the spring 2008 SAT10 scores for grades 1 and 2 to be compared to the “cut scores” for Basic, Proficient, and Advanced necessary to establish an Academic Improvement Plan and/or Intensive Reading Improvement Plan as required by the Rules Governing the Arkansas Comprehensive Testing, Assessment and Accountability Program (ACTAAP). The cut score for each achievement level is indicated by a bolded scale score.
