The Easter Seals Arkansas Technology and Curriculum Access Center (TCC), in collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), will be offering professional development on the topic of technology strategies that can be used to teach transition and life skills in the special education classroom. This workshop is intended for special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, related services providers and paraprofessionals. This training will focus on ways to design lessons, tests and quizzes using PowerPoint. Participants will be given CDs with ten PowerPoint lessons to assist with teaching transition skills such as cooking and proper restaurant etiquette. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to learn how to design programs for future use in classrooms or therapy sessions. Blank discs will be provided for participants so that programs designed during class may be copied to take back to the classroom. Cost of the workshop is $100.00. Lunch is not provided.
