The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) Office of Teacher Quality announces school district Fall Update Project Directors’ Meetings for the 2008-2009 school year which will be held regionally around the state. Presentations will cover rules, policies and procedures for Teacher and Administrator Licensure and Induction, Non-Traditional Licensure, Praxis III Performance Assessment, National Board Certification support, and Q&A on other Teacher Quality issues.
Five regional sites are designated for the meetings, which will run from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm (including a working brunch). Each school district is required to have representation at one of the meetings, preferably the one nearest the district. Two attendance slots per district are reserved for the Induction Project Director (required) and the Bookkeeper (if new to position). Other administrators or personnel directors may attend as needed. The Fall ’08 Update Meetings will be held according to the following schedule:

Project Directors are to notify the Teacher Induction Program Advisor (Ms. Susanne Williams, susanne.williams@arkansas.gov, 501-683-4382) as soon as possible (but no later than Aug 15) regarding the chosen date, site and number of attendees.
