Pursuant to Act 846 of 2007, codified at Ark. Code Ann. 6-17-422(h)(3) the Professional Licensure Standards Board has established the Rules Governing the Code of Ethics for Arkansas Educators. This rule was approved by the State Board of Education on June 9, 2008, approved by Legislative Council on July 3, 2008, and filed with the Secretary of State on July 22, 2008.
The Professional Licensure Standards Board created the attached PowerPoint presentation on the Code of Ethics including the standards plus the intent of each standard followed by several case studies. This presentation should be used for professional development this fall in all Arkansas schools (public and private) as well as Colleges and Universities.

2. All participants should have a copy of the Rules Governing the Code of Ethics for Arkansas Educators.(See LIC-09-002)
3. The trainer should first save the PowerPoint to the computer and then print the PowerPoint slides in slide-note format, to see the notes suggested for use with each slide.

This presentation is a public document and encouraged to be shared with all licensed Arkansas educators regardless of position or place of employment. This PowerPoint will also be posted on the Arkansas Department of Education Website as well as on the ARIDEAS professional development site.
The Professional Licensure Standards Board and the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) appreciate the professionalism in which Districts and Schools embrace this opportunity.
