The Easter Seals Arkansas Technology and Curriculum Access Center (TCC), in collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), will offer professional development on the topic of Alternate Portfolio Assessment. This workshop is intended for special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, related services providers and paraprofessionals. During this training special education professionals will have the opportunity to work in the technology lab creating a professional alternate portfolio. Participants are encouraged to bring pictures that need to be integrated into the participant's portfolios on a flash drive. Participants will be assisted with putting pictures in templates as well as proper captioning and descriptions of classroom programming. In addition, resource personnel will be available to assist teachers with brainstorming activity ideas and linkages.
This training will be offered on multiple dates. Training will be limited to ten participants per session in order to ensure personal attention for each participant. Training sessions will run three hours in the morning and three hours in the afternoon. Participants may choose to attend one or both sessions per day. Cost of the training is $50.00 per session.
