The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information regarding the publication of an accredited-probationary status for failure to meet the requirements of the Standards for Accreditation of Arkansas Public Schools and School Districts.
When any school or school district is determined by the Arkansas State Board of Education (ASBE) to be in accredited-probationary status for failure to meet the requirements of the Standards for Accreditation of Arkansas Public Schools and School Districts and after all rights to appeal are exhausted the school district shall:
1. Publish the accredited-probationary status determination and findings of the State Board of Education to the public and the parents or caregivers of each student enrolled in the school or school district determined to have failed to meet the requirements of the Standards for Accreditation of Arkansas Public Schools and School Districts;
2. The public notice shall be in an understandable and uniform format; and
3. The public notice shall be published or disseminated, immediately after the State Board of Education's determination, on the website of the school district and published at least one (1) time a week for two (2) consecutive weeks in a local newspaper of general circulation in the affected school district.
