The Office of Coordinated School Health (CSH) is hosting a Health and Wellness Workshop on October 27 and 28, 2008, at the Arkansas 4-H Center, #1 Four-H Way, Little Rock, Arkansas. The Health and Wellness workshop, (Previously PANT Workshop) is provided for schools that have not been previously funded for CSH or PANT, (Physical Activity, Nutrition and Tobacco) and are interested in becoming a CSH site. The workshop is designed as a “team building” workshop and will provide attendees information and resources pertaining to physical activity, nutrition, tobacco prevention, HIV/Teen Pregnancy prevention and an opportunity to apply for a GRANT to implement activities in these areas. The first 25 schools that register will be accepted and will need to identify a team of up to three people to represent that school. School teams should consist of a health teacher, physical education teacher, administrator and/or school Wellness Committee chair.
School teams may receive up to two (2) FREE lodging rooms at the 4-H Center for one night on October 27, 2008. However, all participants will be responsible for making reservations by calling the 4-H Center at 1-888-821-2544.
