The Easter Seals Arkansas Technology and Curriculum Access Center (TCC), in collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), will be offering a two-day professional development workshop titled, “Teaching Students with Special Needs Algebra and Geometry, and Resources for Preparation of the Arkansas Alternate Portfolio.” The workshop will be offered on the dates shhown below from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at the Easter Seals Outpatient Services Building at 3920 Woodland Heights Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72212 and is intended for staff with students participating in the 9th grade mathematics alternate portfolio. This workshop will provide participants with resources, developed by staff at the Technology and Curriculum Access Center, for teaching mathematics to students with special needs, and provide tools to assist with alternate assessment development. Lunch will be provided for day one and lunch will be at the participant’s expense for day two. Cost of the workshop is $150. The training is limited to 20 participants per two-day session. Training dates are October 2 - 3, 2008; October 16 - 17, 2008; and October 28 - 29, 2008.
