The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) has created a system of notification that will allow the department to more efficiently serve schools in case of snow, storms or other factors that cause schools to be closed.
By linking to http://ArkansasEd.org/admin, school superintendents or designees will be able to send one e-mail that will notify ADE Commissioner of Education Dr. Ken James; Division of Public School Academic Facilities and Transportation Director Doug Eaton; Director of Communications Julie Johnson Thompson; and Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators Executive Director Dr. Tom Kimbrell, of the school(s)' closing.
Superintendents should place the full seven digit LEA number of the school(s)in the e-mail to help guard against prank e-mails. An e-mail should be sent each day the school is closed. If electricity is not available, notification should be made by calling the ADE at 501-683-4786.
