The Civic Engagement: Responsibility and Liberty in American Society seminar is for social studies teachers grades 9-12, and will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2008, in the Donaghey Student Center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, located at 2801 South University Avenue Little Rock, AR 72204, from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Complimentary breakfast and lunch will be provided at the seminar.
Participants will:
•examine the Founder Father’s views on the role of the citizen in the new republic;
•explore how liberty and citizenship have evolved in America;
•analyze the importance of civic responsibility to American society
•learn how to address these topics in classes; and
•receive a FREE copy of “The Bill of Rights & You: Rights and Responsibilities.”
