A number of questions have been directed to the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) and to the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) about the new AAA Coaching Certification Program offered through the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) for Football, Basketball and Track. Mr. Lance Taylor, Director of the AAA, Ms. Annette Barnes and Mr. Frank Wimer, of the Standards Assurance Unit, and Mr. Ron Tolson, Coordinator of the Office of Professional Licensure, have worked together to create the attached table of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
Please encourage all coaches, athletic directors and principals in the local distrct to refer to this table for questions about the NFHS program and the differences between it and the Coaching Endorsement, which is added to an Arkansas Teaching License through the Arkansas Department of Education. Due to the fact that the AAA program is not a licensure program, the Rules Governing Licensure and the Rules Governing Adding an Area of Licensure (ALPs) do not apply to the NFHS Certification Program.
Please feel free to direct additional comments or questions to Mr. Taylor, Ms. Barnes, Mr. Wimer or Mr. Tolson. Phone numbers and email addresses are below:

Hopefully, the attached table can answer most questions at the local level.
