The Easter Seals Arkansas Technology and Curriculum Access Center in collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) will be offering professional development in the form of two, 2-hour teleconferences addressing teaching transition skills to high school students with low vision or blindness during the spring semester of the 2008-2009 school year. The dates for the teleconferences are May 19, 2009, 10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon and May 21, 2009, 12:30 - 2:30 PM. These teleconferences are intended for special education teachers, vision teachers, related services providers, paraprofessionals, and administrators.
The goal of this professional development is to discuss the optimal technology setup to enhance educational opportunity and performance and address student readiness for transition situations by providing attendees with an overview of transition resources and how to facilitate this online process facilitation. E-mail addresses will be required upon registration so that call-in information and handouts can be sent to facilitate the conference call. Evaluations and questionnaires and evaluations will also be e-mailed to all teleconference attendees. These MUST be completed before receipt of attendance certificate.
Cost of the teleconferences is $25 per person. Upon receipt of registration and payment, the toll-free phone number and conference access code will be e-mailed to each participant.
