The K-6 Arkansas history lesson plans referenced in Commissioner’s Memo COM-08-062 are now posted to the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) Web site under Additional Resources for Lesson Plans: http://www.arkansased.org/teachers/resources.html.
The lesson plans were developed by Arkansas educators through a partnership with the Arkansas History Coalition. The partnership provided K-6 Arkansas educators the opportunity to create original, quality lesson plans aligned to the Arkansas Social Studies Curriculum Framework Revised 2006. A steering committee of Arkansas educators evaluated and chose the lesson plans that are published and distributed on the ADE Web site.
The K-6 Arkansas history lessons plans are free resources appropriate for K-6 classrooms.
