The Easter Seals Arkansas Technology and Curriculum Access Center (TCC), in collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), will be offering workshops on the topic of Technology: Enhancing Universal Design in Your Classroom using Visual Media. This workshop will be offered at the following setting and on the following dates:
Easter Seals Arkansas Technology Lab: April 23, 2009; April 29, 2009;
June 3, 2009; and June 18, 2009.
All classes will start at 9:00 AM. The cost of the workshop is $100 per participant. The cost for lunch is not included. Participants are responsible for lunch.
This workshop is intended for special education teachers, related services providers and paraprofessionals. The workshop is designed to examine a number of software programs and Internet sites that education staff can use to create visual media that will enhance instruction for students with special needs. Participants will have the opportunity to create boards and interactive programs using Boardmaker Version 6, Pixwriter, Writing with Symbols and Click It! software. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to create visual materials using Web sites and tools on the computer. Certificates for technology training will be given at the end of the workshop.
