The Fine Arts Curriculum Framework, Revised 2008, approved by the State Board of Education on January 12, 2009, is now posted on the Arkansas Department of Education Curriculum Frameworks Web page: http://www.arkansased.org/teachers/frameworks2.html#arts.
Beginning in the 2009-2010 school year, all instruction involving arts and music education, K-12, shall be aligned with this Framework. The Fine Arts Curriculum Framework, Revised 2008, supersedes all previous curricular documents in the areas of music and art.
A compressed interactive videoconference (CIV) will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., to introduce the new Fine Arts Curriculum Framework documents. All curriculum coordinators, art and music program coordinators, and fine arts educators are encouraged to attend this videoconference. Instructions for registering for the CIV will be forthcoming.
