An interactive videoconference will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., to introduce the Arkansas Fine Arts Curriculum Framework, Revised 2008, which was approved by the State Board of Education on January 12, 2009. All curriculum coordinators, art and music program coordinators, and art and music educators are encouraged to attend the videoconference.
Beginning in the 2009-2010 school year, all instruction involving art and music education, K-12, shall be aligned with this framework. The Fine Arts Curriculum Framework, Revised 2008, supersedes all previous curricular documents in the areas of music and art.
Participants should register for this videoconference no later than Monday, March 30, 2009, by completing the on-line registration form at http://arkansased.org/reg/fine_arts.htm. After submitting the registration information to the Arkansas Department of Education, participants are also asked to register for the videoconference through the appropriate educational cooperative or school district.
