The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) offers National Board Certified Teachers an annual bonus of $5,000 for up to ten years while they serve as a teacher, school counselor, vice-principal or principal in an Arkansas public school district. Some school districts offer additional incentives in the form of bonuses and/or nine graduate-credit-hours to add to the NBCT’s salary scale.
Please review the attached list of district incentives and confirm via email to the National Board program advisor (michael.rowland@arkansas.gov) if the school district incentive listed is correct. Reply also if the incentive list needs to be corrected or supplemented. Also note in the confirmation email whether the district acknowledges nine graduate-credit-hours toward the salary scale for National Board Certification.
This list will be posted on the ADE website as well as the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) website. The incentive list will also be used in various publications and presentations for NBPTS recruitment and promotion throughout Arkansas.
