The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) will host the 2009 Educators Career Fair on Saturday, May 16, 2009, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Metroplex/Team Summit Event Center located at 10800 Colonel Glenn Road in Little Rock.
The Educators Career Fair is designed to assist licensed teachers in adding an area of licensure or earning an advanced degree. The fair will also assist school districts in recruiting licensed teachers and administrators for hard-to-staff vacancies. This event is for licensed teachers and administrators or new graduates being licensed by August, 2009. Licensed educators from in-state and out-of-state are invited to attend. College and university education preparation programs and ADE programs will be present. These programs provide information to educators regarding advancement of careers in education.
Superintendents, Education Service Cooperative Directors, Principals, and School District Hiring Personnel are encouraged to register as exhibitors. Information may be shared with licensed teachers wishing to earn an advanced degree, interview with local districts, or add an area of licensure. Participating exhibitors will be provided with individual booth space to display information and/or meet with prospective teachers and administrators.
Registration is free but should be done early as booth space is limited. Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis and will include a mid-morning snack for two (2) booth staffers. Electricity is available by request only. To register, visit the following website http://arkansased.org/reg/exhibitors.htm.
Please use the attached flyer to inform teachers about the opportunities to advance education careers. The flyer may be posted in common areas such as teachers’ lounges and/or copied and distributed throughout the district.
