The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) will be hosting two summer professional development workshops for educators. The Arkansas Has It All workshop will be held on July 29, 2009, at the Arkansas 4-H Center located at #1 Four H Way, Little Rock, Arkansas. This year’s event will focus on outdoor programs and classroom curricula that align to the state frameworks. A registration fee of $20.00 is required for this workshop. The AGFC is offering, new this summer, the Arkansas History Workshop. This one day training opportunity will be offered on June 24th and June 25th, 2009. Participants may choose one of the dates to attend. The workshop will take place on the banks of the Arkansas River at Maumelle Park, just west of Little Rock. This one day workshop will focus on the history of Arkansas’s wildlife, management practices, hunting and fishing practices, life on the river and surrounding areas. Some of the natural resources management practices are in place today due to the history of past events and lifestyles of the settlers. The AGFC is providing this workshop at no cost to educators. Registration is on a first come- first serve basis.
