Pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. § 25-15-201 et seq., notice is hereby given that the Arkansas State Board of Education (ASBE) and the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) are considering proposed updates and revisions to the Rules for Gifted and Talented Program Approval Standards.
A public hearing will be held on July 7, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Four Capitol Mall, Auditorium, Little Rock, AR 72201. The public comment period will run June 15-July 20, 2009. Written comments should be mailed to the Office of Gifted and Talented, at Four Capitol Mall, Room 203-B, Little Rock, AR 72201.
The proposed Rules include, but are not limited to: Purpose, Definitions, Community Involvement, Staff Development, Personnel, Identification, Program Options, Curriculum and Evaluation. The proposed Rules are attached.
