Ark. Code Ann. § 6-21-112 specifies that the Division of Public School Academic Facilities and Transportation will “develop and implement an ongoing process for collecting, inventorying and updating information on the state of condition of all public school academic facilities in the state” and will “report, by October 1 of each year to the Governor and various Legislative Committees, on the state of condition of academic facilities statewide using specified building and design systems”. Part of the Division’s response to address the requirements is the collection and reporting of school district Maintenance and Preventative Maintenance work order data by individual building (facility) in the Statewide Computerized Maintenance Management System (SchoolDude©).
Beginning July 1, 2009, school districts should record all maintenance and preventative maintenance work orders by individual buildings in addition to the current requirement of listing each work order as either “academic” or “non-academic” in nature. Each work order assigned per building should be in one of the prescribed “purpose codes” for maintenance work orders and one of the prescribed “classifications” for preventative maintenance work orders.
