Special Education discipline and exit data are collected each year during Arkansas Public School Computer Network (APSCN) Cycle 7. The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), Special Education Unit must report these data to the U.S. Department of Education (USDOE), Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) by November 1, 2009. To ensure the highest accuracy in data reporting to OSEP, the Special Education Unit will provide districts an opportunity to review the Fiscal Year (FY) 2008-2009 discipline and exit data.
Other Cycle 7 data, including referral tracking, early intervening services, early childhood exits, early childhood Part C to Part B transition, and early childhood transition to kindergarten data will also be reviewed. These data elements are used for monitoring and for the federal Special Education Annual Performance Report (APR) due on February 1, 2010.
Beginning September 1, 2009, districts can review the Cycle 7 data by going to the ADE Special Education Web page at http://arksped.k12.ar.us. Click on MySped Resource and use the login submitted to the Grants and Data Management Section for the applicable district. The Web link for review will be de-activated at the close of business on September 30, 2009.
