The AR State Parental Information and Resource Center (PIRC)/Center for Effective Parenting is offering a half-day workshop to train trainers in the newest and most recent modules of the Strengthening the Partnership series. These modules are designed to meet the critical needs of parental involvement in the academic growth of children. The modules are less than one hour in length and fit nicely into a parent meeting or parent support group. Training and training materials will be provided and include a presenter script, participant handouts, and an evaluation form.
The primary focus will be on “Helping Parents Understand School Report Cards”, “No Child Left Behind: What Parents Need to Know About School Accountability, Public School Choice and Supplemental Education Services (SES)”, and “Making the Most of Parent Teacher Conferences: Tips for Parents”.
An overview will also be provided on the previous modules, as follows: “Homework: How to Motivate Your Child”; “Strengthening Your Child’s Home Study Skills”; “Creating a Home Environment for Learning”; “Improving Your Child’s School Organizational Skills”; “Increasing Your Child’s Motivation to Learn”; and “Improving Your Child’s Learning and Grades”.
