At the July 13, 2009, meeting, the State Board of Education approved the request from the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) to seek public comment on the following proposed Rules:

Governing the Calculations of Miscellaneous Funds
Identifying and Governing the Arkansas Fiscal Assessment and Accountability Program
Governing the Regulatory Basis of Accounting
Governing the Reimbursement by School Districts for Election Expenses

The public hearing will be held Friday, August 21, 2009, in the ADE Auditorium, Four Capitol Mall, Little Rock, AR, at the following times:
10:00 a.m. - Rules Governing the Calculations of Miscellaneous Funds;
11:00 a.m. - Rules Identifying and Governing the Arkansas Fiscal Assessment and Accountability Program;
1:00 p.m. - Rules Governing the Regulatory Basis of Accounting; and
2:00 p.m. - Rules Governing the Reimbursement by School Districts for Election Expenses.

Written comments will be accepted in the Fiscal and Administrative Services Office, Four Capitol Mall, Room 103B, Little Rock, AR 72201, until 3:00 p.m., September 4, 2009.

Copies of the proposed revisions are attached, and may also be obtained from the Arkansas Department of Education, Office of General Counsel, Four Capitol Mall, Room 404-A, Little Rock, AR 72201.
