STATEWIDE INFORMATION SYSTEM (SIS) TRAINING
CYCLES 1 THROUGH 9
The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) through the Arkansas Public School Computer Network (APSCN) will conduct state reporting (SIS) training via compressed interactive video (CIV) on Wednesday, September 9, 2009. There will be two sessions, 9:00 a.m. until noon and 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sessions will be hosted at each of the education service cooperatives. Contact the host site to register for the training.
A tentative agenda is attached for reference; however, it is subject to change at this time.
If a school district would like to host the CIV training, please contact Bill Elliot by August 17, 2009, at 501-682-4887 (phone) or Bill.elliott@arkansas.gov (email) to obtain the registration form.
It is essential that the State Reporting Coordinator, Financial System Administrator and/or Bookkeeper, and the Student System Administrator from the district attend the training session. It is also strongly recommended that a person possessing an Arkansas teacher or administrator license (i.e. curriculum coordinator, principal), with knowledge of course and/or job codes, licensure codes, requirements for Highly Qualified Teachers (HQT), and having the authority to correct accreditation report information attend the training. In addition, it would be beneficial for a representative from the district’s nursing staff, lunch program staff, and ELL staff to attend the training. One staff member may cover more than one area of responsibility; and in that case, someone else who would benefit from the training may attend.
The Cycle Coordinator Forms for both Student (Cycles 2-7) and Financial (Cycles 1, 8 and 9) are attached to this memo. These forms need to be completed and returned ONLY if the Cycle Financial Coordinator and/or the Cycle Student Coordinator for the district HAVE CHANGED. If a form has been submitted as recently has July 2009, or if the previous year’s information has not changed, please DO NOT submit another form. The district information is on file at APSCN and can be verified on the Internet at http://www.apscn.org District Access Information.
In order to facilitate the electronic reporting process and provide the proper procedures for submitting error free reports, it is imperative that the appropriate school and/or district representatives attend this training.
