The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) has created a wiki for Arkansas school library media specialists and educators that offers a wealth of free online resources of high quality, relevant content aligned to the Arkansas Curriculum Frameworks. The link to the wiki is http://hoorayforbooks.pbworks.com/. A wiki is an online portal designed to facilitate the research process by making it more transparent and interactive.
As instructional leaders in schools, school library media specialists teach information literacy. Three top online resources that are available to educators are the Arkansas Traveler Databases, Discovery Education Video Streaming, and NetTrekker, which is provided with funding from the Arkansas Department of Education. These three are accessible at all schools and available to students and parents for home use via remote-access passwords distributed by school library media specialists.
