This is a revision of Commissioner's Memo COM-10-089.

In 2008, the Little Rock City Directors adopted a proclamation declaring January 1, 2009, The First Annual Day of GLOBAL PEACE AND RECONCILIATION (GLO-PAR), and celebrated a homicide-free day on January 1, 2009.

To broaden awareness of the effort, Park Central, Little Rock, invites schools in the city of Little Rock and throughout Pulaski County to join in the Second Annual Celebration of GLO-PAR and celebrate a day of non-violence on January 1, 2010, as a participant in the GLO-PAR Poster Contest. The contest will run December 21, 2009, through January 5, 2010.

Attached for information and use are copies of the guidelines for the contest. Please read the poster specification section carefully. Posters should be mailed or delivered to 1417 S. Park Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72202, and must be postmarked by January 5, 2010.

Support and participation in this important activity to create a greater awareness for global peace and reconciliation is greatly appreciated. Direct questions regarding the poster contest, to Ms. Grace Blagdon, Executive Director, at 501-920-8548 or 501-372-3554.
