The Arkansas State Parent Involvement Resource Center (PIRC) in
coordination with the Arkansas Department of Education’s Title I office is hosting a training workshop on Parent Leadership Development on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm at the Central Arkansas Library’s Darragh Center.

The workshop will train Parent Coordinators, Parent Facilitators, and volunteer parents from Title I schools in preparing parents to take a more active leadership role in the child’s school. Training and training materials for the modules will be provided and will include a PowerPoint presentation, presenter script, participation handouts, and an evaluation form. The six modules of training include: Parental Involvement, Leadership, Communication, Decision Making, Supporting the local School, and Action Plans.

The registration deadline is Friday, January 22, 2010. Registration
information and form are attached. Please register in advance, as space and materials are limited.
