The Easter Seals Arkansas Technology and Curriculum Access Center (TCC), in collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Education, Special Education Unit will offer workshops on the topic “Assistive Technology for Students with SLD.” This workshop will be offered in the computer labs at the following locations on the following dates. The participant capacity is noted in parentheses given the availability of computers at each instructional site.

This workshop is intended for general and special education teachers, and building and special education administrators. The workshop is designed to assist staff in acquiring information on a range of assistive technology that can be utilized in instruction to help improve performance for students with specific learning disabilities. The workshops will include various data systems, programs and use of assistive technology for improving and addressing the educational needs of students with specific learning disabilities. The format for the workshop is cooperative learning, hands on and demonstration. Seating is limited to the number listed by each site due to computer lab capacity for access to a variety of software programs. There is a $125 per person fee with registration handled through the Technology and Curriculum Access Center Easter Seals Arkansas.

The workshop is six hours and is from 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM. Certificates will be given at the end of the session.
