The Fred J. Taylor Library and Technology Center will host the 4th Annual Memorial in May Cemetery Preservation Conference in cooperation with PAAC, Inc. (Preservation of African American Cemeteries), April 30 – May 1, 2010. The conference will bring archeologists, historians, genealogists, and other individuals together for a two-day workshop emphasizing the proper techniques in documenting, preserving, restoring, and protecting Arkansas cemeteries. In addition, oral historians and authors will discuss the importance of research to honor families and local communities. Information gathered from this conference may be used to support Arkansas Code 6-16-121 (African American History Instructional Material).
