The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Education (USDOE) Student Achievement and School Accountability Division will host its First Annual Title I Program Conference on May 18-19, 2010. The workshop is designed for Title I directors, administrators who work with Title I programs including central office staff, school principals and parent coordinators/facilitators. Other federal program coordinators at the local and state level, school improvement specialists and private school administrators are encouraged to attend.
This two-day technical assistance conference is designed to assist ADE and districts with addressing findings from the USDOE on-site monitoring review and will continue the Department’s focus on informing leaders of Title I programs of requirements for parent involvement and providing equitable services to private school children. Presentations will include information on accountability and compliance issues, consultation requirements, planning, evaluation, implementation of programs for at-risk children and youth and generating funds for private school services.
The conference will be held at the Embassy Suite Hotel, 11301 Financial Center Parkway, Little Rock, AR 72211. Registration is open to the first 300 participants. If the registered participants exceed 300, priority will be given to ensure an equitable statewide distribution of the available seats. Deadline for registration is Friday, May 7, 2010.
