2010 Charlie May Simon and Arkansas Diamond Book Award Winners
The Arkansas Department of Education, the Arkansas State Library, and the Arkansas Reading Association are pleased to announce the results of the voting for the 2010 Charlie May Simon Children’s Book Award and the 2010 Arkansas Diamond Primary Book Award. Almost 64,000 ballots have been cast and the results have been tabulated. The choice of the voting students is as follows:
Charlie May Simon Children's Book Award
No Talking by Andrew Clements is the winner of the 2009-2010 Charlie May Simon Children’s Book Award. It was published by Simon and Schuster Children’s Publishing.
Lawn Boy by Gary Paulsen is the Honor Book for 2009-2010. It was published by Random House Children’s Books.
Arkansas Diamond Primary Book Award
Diary Of A Fly by Doreen Cronin and illustrated by Harry Bliss is the winner of the 2009-2010 Arkansas Diamond Primary Book Award. It was published by HarperCollins Publishers.
Ruthie And The (Not So) Teeny Tiny Lie written and illustrated by Laura Rankin is the Honor Book for 2009-2010. It was published by Bloomsbury Publishing.
Both awards are under the sponsorship of the Arkansas Department of Education, the Arkansas State Library, and the Arkansas Reading Association, with support from other cooperating organizations.
