The Arkansas Safe Schools Association, in conjunction with the Criminal Justice Institute, University of Arkansas System and the Arkansas Department of Education, Office of Safe and Drug Free Program, is co-sponsoring the Sixth Annual Safe Schools Conference June 14-16, 2010. The purpose of the conference is to assist in maintaining a safe learning environment in our schools by providing up-to-date education and training on school safety issues for those involved with students such as school resource officers, school safety personnel, school counselors, and safe and drug free schools coordinators.
This year’s conference theme is A Dose of 21st Century Reality. Conference participants' knowledge and skills will be enhanced through workshop topics such as: Challenges and Changes; The Millennial Generation; From Drinking and Drugging to Shooting and Slugging; Misuse of Prescription Drugs; What If … School Safety and the New Normal; Cyber Bullying; and much more.
The conference will be held at the Wyndham Riverfront Hotel, 2 Riverfront Place, North Little Rock, AR 72114. The conference registration fee is $100 and should be submitted with the registration form. Please make checks payable to: Arkansas Safe Schools Association. Purchase orders will be accepted. The $25 membership fee included in the registration fee is non-refundable.
