The Arkansas Department of Education Office of Teacher Quality is hosting the Beginning Administrator Induction Training on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, July 6, 7, and 8, 2010, at the Airport Holiday Inn in Little Rock. Administrator mentors who attended the 2009-2010 Beginning Administrator Induction Mentor training are only required to attend the second day of the training (July 7). Administrator mentors not trained during the 2009-2010 Beginning Administrator Induction Mentor training must attend both the first and second days (July 6-7) to be certified as an Arkansas administrator mentor. Beginning administrators are to attend the second and third days only (July 7-8).
It is the responsibility of all school districts to ensure that each beginning building level administrator and/or curriculum/program administrator, paired with an assigned practicing administrator mentor, attend and be trained via this program. Administrators in the first, second, or third year of an administrator licensure completion plan are also required to attend this induction training. Administrators holding an initial license (employed for the first time as a building level administrator or curriculum/program administrator), or holding a standard license with less than one-year administrator experience in the state of Arkansas are also required to attend this training. All beginning administrators hired prior to July 2, 2010 and their mentors must attend this July induction training.

Individual online registrations, by both the beginning administrator and the mentor are required no later than Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Online registration in advance of this induction training session is mandatory. Attendees who have not registered in advance will not be admitted to the training session.
