A Distance Learning Workshop entitled Free And Reduced Price Meal Eligibility And Application Process will be presented on Thursday, August 12, 2010. This three-hour workshop, covering current regulations and the “Eligibility Manual for School Meals”, will be offered from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. All district personnel involved in determining student eligibility status for the Child Nutrition Program, including the determining, certifying, confirming, hearing, and verifying officials need to register and attend this important training.
Included in this workshop will be a discussion of the 'Federal Policy Change to Extend Categorical Eligibility to All Students within Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Households” (formerly known as Food Stamp Households). Each participant should print and bring a copy of the revised 2010 “Eligibility Manual for School Meals” from the Child Nutrition website to the training.
