The State Board of Education approved the recommendations for new Praxis I and Praxis II testing and increased score requirements on November 9, 1998. The implementation is scheduled to begin effective July 1, 1999. The first test administration after the implementation date will be in October, 1999. These requiements apply only to new, beginning teachers, or to teachers who wish to add an additional area of licensure to an existing credential.
These new requirements are outlined in the attached chart. Please note that not all testing areas are affected immediately. Other areas will be required to complete more than one test component.
