The State Board of Education has enacted Rules and Regulations governing core curriculum requirements pursuant to its authority under Arkansas Code 6-15-1001. Social studies requirements specify three (3) units including one (1) unit of world history, one (1) unit of U.S. history, one-half (1/2) unit of civics or government, and one-half (1/2) unit in an elective course.
The world history requirement can be satisfied only through two semesters of world history. Advanced Placement European History will not be accepted as a substitution for the required unit in world history.
