The Arkansas State Claims Commission has issued an order in a class action finding the Department of Education liable for misapplication of the funding formula for the years 1989-90, 1990-91, and 1991-92. The total amount of liability is $7.145 million. The order does not describe how these funds are to be distributed.
The Department of Education plans to appeal the Commission's order to the General Assembly.
