The Title VI Unit, School Improvement and Instructional Support Section, Department of Education, will hold the following meetings to disseminate information and application materials regarding the CLASS SIZE REDUCTION AND TITLE VI program for 1999-2000.
April 14, 1999--Branch--Western Arkansas Cooperative
April 16, 1999--Eureka Springs--Victorian Inn*
April 20, 1999--Highland--Middle School Library
April 21, 1999--Marion--Middle School Cafetorium
April 22, 1999--Monticello--Junior High School Auditorium
April 23, 1999--Nashville--Administration Building
April 30, 1999--Cabot--Middle School Library
*The Area Meeting in Eureka Springs will be held in conjunction with the Arkansas Association of Federal Coordinators (AAFC) Conference.
Registration for all locations will be from 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and the meetings will conclude by 12:00 noon. Each district should bring a copy of the Title VI Handbook to the meeting.
At each location, a time will be set aside to serve as the Annual Public Meetings for Title VI. The State Application and Financial Report will be reviewed and made available to the public. The staff will take comments in reference to the implementation of the Title VI program.
The materials distributed will include:
Title VI Application forms and instructions
Title VI Annual Financial Report forms and instructions
It is IMPORTANT that the person responsible for completing the application and annual report attend an area meeting. Technical assistance will be provided in the afternoon, by appointment only.
