Please find enclosed Title VI and Class Size Reduction allotment information for the 1999-00 school year. August 1, 1999, is the cutoff date for filing applications, but Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) are encouraged to file early.
The allotment for Title VI is based upon the combined enrollment of public and non-profit private school students using October 1, 1998, enrollment data for the student count. The distribution rate is $5.6573 per student for basic grant and $1.8223 per student for high-cost adjustments, provided the district qualifies.
The allotment for Class Size Reduction is based upon the combined enrollment of public and non-profit private school students using October 1, 1998, enrollment data for the student count. The distribution rate is $4.9982 per student for student enrollment and $77.8785 per student for student poverty, as determined by the United States Department of Education.
Public school administrators are responsible for consulting with appropriate private school officials regarding the development and implementation of the Title VI program. Private school participation in the Class Size Reduction portion of the program is limited to professional development activities implemented by the public school.
