The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Amendments of 1997 requires that specific disciplinary information be submitted to the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs as an annual data reporting requirement. These data requirements became effective with the 1998-99 school year. The forms and instructions for this report were originally disseminated under Director's Communication ACC-99-026 of
November 4, 1998.

This report consists of two categories. In Section A, the discipline data are reported by disability category. In Section B, the same data are reported by ethnicity.
