This memorandum refers to the official state-adopted lists of textbooks and other instructional materials to be delivered to you in the next bulk mailing. These lists of instructional materials for mathematics, computer science, practical arts, career education, general cooperative education and workplace readiness are to replace the working copies sent to you in September, 1998. They reflect changes made, such as substitutions of newer editions, price reductions and corrections, and are hole punched for permanent storage in a binder. Please refer to these lists when placing orders in the aforementioned curriculum areas.
An addendum will also be included in the bulk mailing providing changes to your state-adopted lists in previously adopted areas.
All examination copies (samples) of state-adopted materials should now be returned to the appropriate textbook depository. (You may keep the samples of the textbooks your schools adopt and purchase, but all others must be returned.) No other disposal is authorized since these samples are the property of the publishers and the depositories.
There will be no charge to your district for returning samples when exercising one of the following options:
*Ship "freight collect" if a depository shipment weigh more than 100 pounds.
*If shipment weigh 100 pounds or less, send "Parcel Post Fourth Class."
Package no more than 50 pounds per carton. Do not send COD. Instead,
please request a postage credit or refund from the depository.
Be sure to label all boxes "TEXTBOOK SAMPLES."
See attachment for list of publishing companies and their depositories.
