Enclosed with this memorandum are forms and instructions for preparing the 1999-2000 Application for Program Approval for Gifted/Talented Education. We have taken into consideration suggestions that have been submitted to our office in order to continue to make your reporting of information easier and more relevant. We appreciate the time it takes to complete this packet. We do believe this has provided our office a comprehensive description of gifted programs state-wide, therefore, aiding us in assisting districts in providing appropriate and challenging educational opportunities for gifted/talented students throughout the state. This comprehensive description has assisted and will assist the Office of Gifted/Talented in providing information on education results, developments, and achievements in the field of gifted education to all interested parties both inside and outside the state.
Please return the completed packet as all requested information is necessary to provide adequate evidence for program approval. One copy of the application should be sent to the Office of Gifted and Talented, Room 203B, Education Building, #4 Capitol Mall, Little Rock, AR 72201, on or before October 15, 1999. Be sure to retain a copy for your files.
