The Child Nutrition Unit of the Arkansas Department of Education recently received a USDA Team Nutrition Training Grant. As a result, new funds are available to school districts through competitive grants. A minimum of $5,000 and a maximum of $25,000 will be available to selected districts. The purpose of these Team Nutrition sub-grants is to provide comprehensive, action-oriented delivery of nutrition education training programs at the district or school level for students and staff.
Additional non-competitive grants, Nifty Nutrition and Health Action Team (HAT) grants will also be available to school districts for school year 1999-2000.
