The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) is required by Arkansas Code Annotated* 6-15-801 to include a retention-in-grade on the Annual School Report Card. In order to comply with this legislation, the enclosed form has been developed to assist schools in providing necessary information to the ADE. Please submit a separate form for each school in your district which has any combination of grades K-8. The number of students retained in each grade should be listed by race and sex; totals and rates will be calculated at the Department of Education.
Realizing the importance of not only maintaining but reducing the amount of paper work that is required of school districts, this form represents the only additional information that districts will submit to the Department of Education for preparation of the 1997-98 School Report Card.
