The Gun-Free Schools Act (GFSA) states that each state receiving federal funds under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) must have a state law requiring all local educational agencies (LEAs) in the state to expel from school for at least one year any student found bringing firearms to school. In addition, the GFSA states that it must be consistent with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Attached is a copy of the Gun-Free School Act School District Report Form to be completed and returned by AUGUST 15, 1999.
This incident reporting form will be the only form accepted by this office. PLEASE DO NOT ADD OR DELETE CATEGORIES ON THIS FORM. Send the official ORIGINAL copy to the Arkansas Department of Education, making sure you maintain a copy for your records.
Please use the attached forms to provide information on implementation of the Gun-Free Schools Report. This information should be a composite of the entire district.
