The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act Amendments of 1997 provides for subgrants to local education agencies for capacity building and improvement activities. For fiscal year (FY) 2000, "Sliver" grants will again be available to LEAs for the purpose of making systemic changes and to improve results for children with disabilities. Attached is an application packet containing the following: (1) eligibility criteria, (2) amount of available funding, (3) eligible expenditures, (4) priorities, and (5) application and instructions, and (6) annual financial report for FY 1999. The data sheet used for completing the FY 1999 annual financial report will be disseminated separately in the Arkansas Department of Education's mass mail-out.
