Dr. Don Boyd and Ms. Aleecia Starkey will present a series workshops on Mind, Memory and Learning: Translating Brain Research to Classroom Practice. Content of the workshop will include the following: updated information on how the brain learns and the educational implications for classroom practice, a look at the most current and educationally significant research coming out of the neurosciences, and ten (10 ) educational strategies that take advantage of how the brain learns best. The research of Dr. Pat Wolfe will be emphasized.
These workshops will be five hours (for CPEs) in length and will be brown bag affairs, i.e., you will need to bring a lunch or purchase one nearby during the lunch break. To save time we are asking that participants eat on site.
These regional workshops will run from September through May of the 1999-2000 academic year at the locations listed on the attachment to this memorandum. The registration form is also included.
