Attached are the Rules and Regulations Governing the Distribution of Poverty Index Funds. This funding category was created by Act 1549 of 1999. These funds may only be used for early intervention strategies in reading and writing literacy or mathematics for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 1, as sanctioned by the Department. These Rule and Regulation detail the funding calculations and the restricted use of the funds.
The Superintendent of a school district with school(s) that qualify for fiscal year 2000 funding, will receive an information package from the Department.
